Types of Universities

As we mentioned in the previous point, there is a wide variety of universities that offer you various characteristics, whether in terms of cost, duration, focus, among others. Below we will explain what the types of universities are:

Public universities

Public Universities obtain resources from government financing, so they are usually cheaper. This does not mean that the quality of teaching is lower, since 4 of the 5 Best Universities in Mexico are Public.
Public Universities, being more accessible, have a greater number of young people wanting to enter each year, so to be admitted you must comply with the admission process that we will talk about later.

Private universities

This type of University does not receive government funding, so costs are usually higher. However, this is reflected in the facilities and furniture, since there are more resources to constantly renew materials. In addition, they usually have various agreements with private companies, offering greater chances of getting a job after finishing their degree.

Online Universities

If you require other characteristics such as greater flexibility and autonomy in learning, you can consider studying at an online university. Teaching is carried out remotely and there are both public and private. You can get the most detailed information in our list of Online Universities

How long does a university career last?

Another important point to consider is the time you want to dedicate to studies, a university career can take between 3 and a half to 5 years. This will also depend on the career you choose, as there are some that will take longer (for example, medicine).
Speaking of time, you should also check what if the Career you will choose is carried out by Semesters or Semesters; These academic periods will affect to what extent the subjects will be deepened in class as well as the duration of the entire career. That is to say, when studying by semesters you will have more time to delve into a subject, but the degree will last longer than a semester race.
If you want more information about the academic periods we recommend this article

How much does it cost to study at the university?

If you chose a public university, the costs will be reduced by far, unlike a private one. A complete career at a public university can cost you from $ 20,000.- onwards, while a career at a private university will cost around $ 900,000.
As we mentioned before, there are advantages and disadvantages for both public and private universities, so you should consider which one best suits your pocket and not see it as an expense, but as an investment in the future.
